This Pictus Catfish was surrendered to J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue on 1/15/26 after their owner stopped by unannounced and said they were too busy to care for them anymore. Now this fast and fascinating fish is looking for a new aquarium to call home.
 
Pictus Catfish are active fish with long whiskers and beautiful spotted patterns. They spend a lot of time swimming around the tank, especially at night. Because they are so active, they need plenty of space and good filtration.
 
🟢 Quick Care Tips:
• Adult size: 4–5 inches
• Tank size: 55+ gallons
• Water temp: 72–79°F
• pH: 6.0–7.5
• Diet: Pellets, frozen foods, and meaty treats
• Best with peaceful tank mates
 
Pictus Catfish are fun to watch and add lots of movement to an aquarium. They do best in clean, stable water with hiding spots and open swimming space.
