Public Program

J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue is now booking fall dates for an exciting educational program: our Creepy Crawly Creatures Presentation, featuring live spiders, snakes, insects, and more for $250 plus mileage. This program promotes responsible pet ownership and hands-on learning. Mileage is $0.70 per mile round trip from Neenah, but we’re happy to split mileage costs when neighboring libraries book on the same day—so be sure to tell your fellow librarians!
Exotic Pet Surrender Events

Exotic Pet Surrender Events are free community events hosted by J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue where people can responsibly surrender exotic pets they can no longer care for—no questions asked. These events help prevent the release of non-native animals into the wild and provide a humane option for owners. There's no fee for the host, and sponsorship opportunities are available to help support the care of surrendered animals.
These three-hour events are typically held from noon to 3, but we are flexible in timing.
Perfect for Libraries, Nature Centers, County Extensions, and More!

Classroom Critters: Adopt a Gecko, Inspire a Generation!

J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue is excited to launch a new educational experience just for teachers, librarians, and other educators! For our standard rate of $250 plus mileage, we’ll bring a leopard gecko—our most commonly surrendered lizard—along with everything needed to set up and maintain its habitat. During our visit, we’ll give an engaging, age-appropriate presentation on the natural history and captive care of leopard geckos, highlighting why they make excellent classroom pets. Best of all, the gecko and its full setup stay with you!
Already have the equipment or are approved to house a different kind of animal? No problem—we can bring a suitable surrendered animal instead, along with a few of our ambassador animals to enhance the educational experience.
