These cheerful little parakeets have been with J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue for a while now and are still looking for homes where they can sing, chirp, and brighten someone’s day. 💚💙💛
 
Parakeets, also called budgies, are smart, social birds that love enrichment and interaction. They can do well alone with lots of human attention or in pairs/groups for companionship.

📏 Size: 6–8 inches
📅 Lifespan: 7–15 years
🏠 Cage Size: Minimum 18” x 18” x 24” per bird
🧸 Enrichment: Swings, ladders, shreddable toys, and varied perches
🌞 Lighting: Natural sunlight or full-spectrum UV light helps keep them healthy
 
🍽️ Diet:
• High-quality pellets and a small amount of seed mix
• Fresh veggies like leafy greens, broccoli, carrots, and peppers
• Occasional fruit treats
• Fresh water daily
