Buddy was surrendered to J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue on 5/30/26 after their owner, who originally got them online, discovered they could not legally keep them. Now Buddy is looking for a permanent home where they can receive the specialized care this incredible species requires.
Caimans are intelligent, powerful reptiles that grow into large predators. They require specialized housing, expert care, and experienced handlers throughout their lives. Because of their size, strength, and legal requirements, they are not suitable as pets for the vast majority of people.
 
🟢 Important Information:
• Adult size: 5–8+ feet, depending on the species
• Lifespan: 40–60+ years
• Large, secure indoor and outdoor habitats are required
• Heated water and basking areas are essential
• Specialized diet and experienced care are necessary
• Permits may be required depending on location
 
🚨 Buddy is only available to a licensed educational facility, accredited sanctuary, or zoo. We are not accepting applications from private individuals. Please do not apply unless you represent one of these qualified organizations.
