🐢🦖 Chip the Alligator Snapping Turtle🦖🐢

 
Chip came to J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue on 5/2/26 during the Exotic Pet Surrender Event in Rhinelander after his owner, who originally got him online, could no longer care for him because of poor health. Now Chip is looking for an experienced home that understands the needs of this incredible species.
 
Chip is about 1 foot long and enjoys eating pellets and frozen fish. He even has a small chip in his beak, but we think it just gives him a little extra character!

• Adult size: Up to 26 inches and over 150 pounds
• Lifespan: 50–100+ years
• Enclosure: Very large pond or custom indoor habitat
• Water temperature: 70–80°F
• Strong filtration is essential
• Diet: Aquatic turtle pellets, fish, crayfish, and other protein-rich foods
