Hello everyone! I’m a Green Cory Catfish. I came to J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue on June 18th, 2024, because my owners were moving and couldn’t take me with them.

About Me: I am a Green Cory Catfish, known for my peaceful temperament and ability to keep the tank clean by scavenging leftover food.
 
Care Tips for Green Cory Catfish:
🏠 Housing: I need a tank of at least 20 gallons, as I thrive best in groups of 5 or more.
🌡️ Temperature: Maintain a water temperature of 72-78°F.
💧 Water Quality: Keep the water clean and well-filtered. Regular water changes are essential to maintain high water quality.
🌿 Habitat: Provide a soft substrate, such as sand, to protect my sensitive barbels. Add plenty of hiding spots with plants, driftwood, and rocks.
🍽️ Diet: I am omnivorous and enjoy a varied diet of high-quality sinking pellets, supplemented with live or frozen foods like bloodworms, brine shrimp, and vegetable matter.
🐠 Tank Mates: I am peaceful and get along well with other community fish. Ideal tank mates include tetras, guppies, and other non-aggressive species.
🧼 Cleaning: Keep my tank clean by removing waste promptly and performing regular water changes. Clean the filter and decorations to prevent any buildup of harmful substances.
Lifespan: With proper care, Green Cory Catfish can live up to 5-7 years in captivity.
