Karma and Sapphire came to J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue on 4/7/26 after their owner was getting out of a relationship and could no longer keep them. These two have been through a lot together and are now looking for a loving forever home.
 
Karma and Sapphire are a mother and daughter pair who share a special bond. Because they have always been together, they must be adopted together. Chinchillas are social animals, and having a trusted companion can help them feel safe and comfortable.
 
🟢 Quick Care Tips:
• Lifespan: 10–20 years
• Large multi-level cage required
• Temperature: 60–75°F (they do not tolerate heat well)
• Diet: Unlimited hay, quality chinchilla pellets, and occasional treats
• Dust baths several times per week
• Plenty of chew toys for healthy teeth
 
Chinchillas are playful, curious animals that are most active in the evening. They love to jump, explore, and interact with their environment.
