Leucistic Axolotl 🩷🫧

This beautiful Leucistic Axolotl has been with J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue for a while now and is still looking for a home.

Leucistic axolotls are known for their pale pink or white bodies, dark eyes, and fluffy-looking external gills. Their unusual appearance makes them one of the most recognizable types of axolotl!
Axolotls have some very specific care needs. They require cool, clean water and should never be kept in a warm tropical aquarium. They also spend their entire lives underwater.

💧 Care Basics:
• Cool freshwater aquarium
• Strong biological filtration with gentle water flow
• Plenty of floor space and hiding places
• Avoid gravel or other substrate that could be swallowed
• Feed appropriate foods such as earthworms and quality axolotl pellets
• Carefully consider any tankmates

Axolotls are fascinating animals, but they need a home prepared for their special care requirements.
