Max Mayfield came to J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue on 1/2/26 after her owner had health issues and could no longer care for her. She is about 3 feet long and is eating prekilled small rats with no trouble.
 
Max has rich red coloring and a calm, steady personality. Ball pythons are usually gentle and shy. They like quiet homes where they can feel safe and secure.

• Adult size: 3–5 feet
• Lifespan: 30+ years
• Enclosure: At least 4 feet long
• Warm side: 86–90°F
• Cool side: 72–80°F
• Humidity: 45–75%
• Feed every 10–14 days
 
Ball pythons need secure hides, proper heat, and steady humidity. Clean water should always be available. They are a long-term commitment and can live for decades with good care.
