Hello everyone! We are Medium Silver Dollar. We came to J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue on June 18th, 2024, because our owners were moving and couldn’t take us with them.

About Us: We are Medium Silver Dollar Fish, known for our round, silver bodies and peaceful nature.
 
Care Tips for Medium Silver Dollar Fish:
🏠 Housing: We need a spacious tank of at least 75 gallons as we grow quite large and prefer to live in schools of 5 or more.
🌡️ Temperature: Maintain a water temperature of 75-82°F.
💧 Water Quality: Keep the water clean and well-filtered. Regular water changes are essential to maintain high water quality.
🌿 Habitat: Provide plenty of swimming space with some hiding spots using plants and decorations. We prefer a well-planted tank but make sure to use sturdy plants as we might nibble on them.
🍽️ Diet: We are omnivorous and enjoy a varied diet of high-quality flakes or pellets, supplemented with vegetables like spinach, lettuce, and zucchini, as well as occasional live or frozen foods like bloodworms and brine shrimp.
🐠 Tank Mates: We are peaceful and get along well with other community fish. Ideal tank mates include larger tetras, angelfish, and other non-aggressive species.
🧼 Cleaning: Keep our tank clean by removing waste promptly and performing regular water changes. Clean the filter and decorations to prevent any buildup of harmful substances.
Lifespan: With proper care, Silver Dollar Fish can live up to 10 years in captivity.
