Mirmel came to J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue on 11/12/25 after their owner faced housing issues. At 10 years old, Mirmel is a wonderful senior beardie who loves people and enjoys calm interaction—proof that bearded dragons make amazing long-term companions. ☀️
 
✨ Bearded Dragon Care – Quick Tips (ReptiFiles) ✨
🌡️ Heat: Basking spot 100–110°F | Cool side 75–85°F
☀️ UVB: Essential! T5 HO Arcadia 12% or Zoo Med Reptisun 10.0
🏠 Enclosure: 4’ x 2’ x 2’ (120 gal) minimum for adults
🪵 Setup: Basking platform, sturdy branches, hides, and traction surfaces
🥗 Diet (Adult/Senior):
• 🥬 Greens daily (collard, mustard, dandelion)
• 🥕 Veggies often (squash, bell pepper)
• 🦗 Insects 2–3x/week (dubia, BSFL; fewer bugs as seniors)
💊 Supplements: Calcium (no D3 with proper UVB) + multivitamin weekly
💧 Humidity: ~30–40%
🧡 Senior Care Note: Older dragons benefit from consistent routines, gentle handling, and regular vet checkups. Many seniors are calmer and extra affectionate—just like Mirmel!
