Montell the Canary

Montell came to J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue on 10/7/25 from a distributor because he wasn’t considered “perfect” enough for a pet shop due to a missing nail. We think that’s ridiculous — Montell is perfectly sweet, lively, and deserving of a loving home just as he is.

Canaries are known for their gentle nature, beautiful singing, and bright personalities. Montell is active, alert, and ready to charm his new family. His missing nail doesn’t affect his health or ability to perch — it simply makes him unique.
 
🏠 Ideal Home:
• A spacious cage with perches of various sizes
• Fresh seed mix, greens, and clean water daily
• A calm, draft-free space where he can feel secure
• Optional: Soft background music — many canaries enjoy it!
