Ollie came to J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue on 4/17/25 from the Lakeshore Humane Society and is now looking for an experienced aquatic home where he can grow into the river monster he’s meant to be!
 
✨ About Ollie:
Species: Alligator Gar
Size: Currently 4–5 inches long
Diet: Eating quarantined live feeder minnows; we’re actively working on transitioning him to frozen foods and pellets
Temperament: Calm now — but this is a massive, predatory fish that needs space and commitment
 
🚫 Important Requirements:
Minimum tank size: 210 gallons
Must have plans for an indoor pond as he grows
Not suitable for community aquariums or beginners
 
If you’re ready for a long-term aquatic commitment and have the proper setup, Ollie might be the perfect addition to your tank.
