Paprika came to J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue on September 5, 2025, after their previous owner—who had purchased them from Silver Apple Exotics at a Scaled Up Expo as a hatchling in 2023—realized they were in over their head. This beautiful boa is currently eating frozen/thawed medium rats and learning to be more comfortable with handling. While Paprika can be a bit shy, with patience and the right setup, this iridescent beauty will truly shine! ✨

🛏️ Substrate: Moisture-retentive mix like Reptisoil or coconut fiber, 4” deep with leaf litter
🌿 Décor: Multiple hides, sturdy climbing branches, live or artificial plants, and a soaking tub
🍽️ Diet: Carnivore
Feed appropriately sized frozen/thawed prey (about 10% of body weight). Vary prey items for balanced nutrition — options include rats, mice, chicks, and Reptilinks.
