Persephone joined J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue on September 25, 2025, after her previous owner could no longer care for her due to financial reasons. This 4-year-old female is about 2 feet long and currently eating frozen/thawed rats with no hesitation. 🐀❄️

📏 Adult Size: 3–5 feet (females tend to grow larger)
📅 Lifespan: 30+ years with proper care
💤 Temperament: Calm and easy to handle once accustomed to regular interaction
🏠 Enclosure Size: Minimum 4’L x 2’W x 2’H (120 gallons)
🌡️ Temps:
– Basking surface: 95–104°F
– Warm hide: 86–90°F
– Cool side: 72–80°F
💧 Humidity: 45–75%, with a humid hide to assist with shedding
💡 Lighting: Low-level UVB (Arcadia Forest 6% or Zoo Med Reptisun 5.0 T5 HO) recommended
