Rio came to J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue on 4/7/26 from a distributor because they were not considered "perfect enough" for a pet store. We think Rio is perfect just the way they are and deserves a loving home where they will be appreciated for who they are.
 
Canaries are known for their beautiful colors, cheerful personalities, and lovely songs. They are active little birds that enjoy flying, exploring, and brightening up a room with their presence.

• Adult size: About 5 inches
• Lifespan: 8–12 years
• Large cage with room to fly
• Diet: High-quality canary seed, pellets, and fresh greens
• Fresh water daily
• Enjoy perches, swings, and enrichment
 
Canaries are usually not hands-on pets, but they are wonderful birds to watch and listen to. Their songs and activity can bring a lot of joy to a home.
