Salazar Slytherin the Boa 🐍💚

Salazar Slytherin was surrendered to J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue on 6/27/26 because they had simply gotten too large for their previous home.

Salazar has now been with us for about three months and is still looking for a home. At approximately 5–6 feet long, this is definitely not a tiny snake hiding in the Chamber of Secrets! 🐍⚡

Salazar is currently eating frozen/thawed jumbo rats and will need a home prepared for the space and long-term commitment that comes with keeping a large boa. Boas need a spacious, secure enclosure with appropriate temperatures, humidity, climbing opportunities, hides, and enrichment.

Their impressive size is exactly why researching an animal's adult size before bringing one home is so important. That little snake can eventually become a whole lot of snake!

Could your home be the next House of Slytherin? 🐍💚
